About

My History 390 final is focused on Vietnamese Immigration. The decade civil war left a permanent scar on the country's people. To this day, the people of Vietnam have still not been reunified. Those who fled the country on and after April 30, 1975 still considered their homeland "lost". My inquiry focuses on how these refugees came to be in the United States, and their affect on the areas in which their communities are located. My site is set up so that the viewer could see both the good and bad in the Vietnamese community in the United States. The progressive spreading and mixing of Vietnamese into American society, and the conservative factions of the community that wants to reclaim the perceived traditional Vietnamese life in the homeland.
